Anxiety Hacking 101

Holly’s top 10 tips for calming anxiety & reducing stress quickly

Why you actually need anxiety: Anxiety is a natural response to keep you safe. However, excess anxiety or an anxiety disorder is when you rarely feel safe or are triggered often. These hacks help you self-regulate and come back into a normal state of calm and inner peace. You’ll still have the anxiety that is needed when real danger appears, but by practicing these hacks daily for a an extended period of time

There’s only one fear

  1. One fear = Loss  Ask yourself, “What am I afraid of losing?” Then use logic to self soothe yourself (take baby steps, if needed) into a place of greater power & peace.

  2. One love = Unconditional love - Ask yourself, “Is this how my Higher Self/Higher Power sees me or the situation?” 

 

What Happens in Vagus Stays in Vagus

  1. Vagus Nerve Reset - The Vagus Nerve is actually a set of nerves - the largest in the body and it controls your calm state. 

  2. Vagal Toning - toning can include activities like meditation, singing/humming, walks in nature and more

  1. Smile therapy & Laughter yoga - Thought>>feeling>>behavior cycle - thoughts lead to feelings lead to behaviors and body reactions - reverse engineering = start with the body/movement and feeling will be better and lead to a better thought
